Dr. Jayakumar Jayaraman, BDS (Ind), MDS (HK), MPaed DentRCS (Edin), FDSRCS (Edin), DipFHID (Lond), MS (USA), PhD (HK)

Dr. Jayaraman is the Founder & Director of Date of Birth Foundation. He is American Board-certified Pediatric Dentist and has research interest in Forensic Dentistry, Human Biology and Evidence Based Dentistry. He is involved in age assessment related research for the past 15 years and holds PhD degree in “Pediatric Forensic Dentistry” from the University of Hong Kong. He is an Executive Committee Member of Dental Age Research London Information Group (DARLInG). He has lectured extensively in national and international platforms emphasizing the importance of birth registration and the need for an ethical method for age assessment. Dr. Jayaraman has published over 75 research articles in several peer-reviewed scientific journals and serves as an Editorial Board member of leading pediatric and forensic journals. He is a member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and an Examiner for the Faculty of Dental Surgery, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. Dr. Jayaraman is currently Associate Professor & Director of Research of Pediatric Dentistry at VCU School of Dentistry, and staff Pediatric Dentist at Children’s Hospital of Richmond, Virginia, United States. He leads the DOB Foundation and assigns roles to the Board of Directors and gets involved in implementation of research and projects activities on age estimation.
